I absolutely understand that for a job interview you might not own slacks but coming in blue jeans (fashionable that they may be) is not going to win you over to a hiring manager unless you can sell the heck out of your skills. I'm pretty fluid when it comes to how people dress for an interview. I've hired wolves in sheep's clothing. And I look at the whole picture when it comes to hiring. I get that those jeans might be the best you have but can I recommend getting a nice pair of pants at Goodwill if your skills don't exceed your exterior.
